The “ultra-hip” and preppy clothing maker Abercrombie & Fitch wants to distance itself from Jersey Shore cast members and the culture they portray. They are even willing to PAY a “substantial” amount to the cast members to stop wearing their valuable brand. Image that! Being paid not to be associated with a pretentious clothing line. What an offer.
“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image,” Abercrombie & Fitch retailer said in a press release.
Brian Sozzi a Wall Street type, says “It gets their name further out into the marketplace with one of the hottest brands on TV right now at the peak of the back-to-school season. It’s free marketing. Because the approach is so ridiculous, everybody’s talking about it.”
